Anthony Road Pinot Gris 2015: $15 Good+

This year, the Anthony Road Pinot Gris (Finger Lakes, NY) 2015 $15 [Good+] is a leaner, more citrus-y wine than usual.  It lacks the genial nature and richness of the 2014, but will work as a sipper or with lighter Asian recipes, especially those that include lemongrass, lime, and/or ginger.

Dark lemon in color, the aromas of the AR are subdued, with scents of green apple, pear, pepper, and a wooly/mineral note.  Medium bodied, dry, with a fair amount of peppery acidity, balance is good.  Flavors of apple, pear, and lime are marked by a good deal of peppery spice, a light wooly/mineral note, and a touch of bitterness.  The finish is somewhat brittle and metallic, with a touch of bitterness and average length.  April 2016

Note:  Aerate this wine for a couple of hours before drinking.
