Hosmer Pinot Noir 2016: $20 to $25 Very Good

Bright and concentrated raspberry/cherry fruit makes the Hosmer Estate Winery Pinot Noir (Cayuga Lake, Finger Lakes, NY) 2016 $20 to $25 [Very Good] a pleasure to sip.  It is also well structured, with subtle nuances of herbs and earth; it finishes very well.   Apart from sipping, this should also work well with light to medium intense dinner entrees.

Light brick orange in color, sappy, fresh, and tangy aromas of raspberry and cherry are lightly accented by green herbs, tobacco, earth and a floral note.  Full bodied, soft, with light gritty tannin, balance is very good.  Fresh and pure flavors of raspberry and cherry have nice concentration and are complemented by green herbs, tobacco and earth.  The finish turns a bit grittier, with very good length.  January 2018
