Swedish Hill Dry Riesling 2014: $12 Very Good

The Swedish Hill Winery Dry Riesling (Finger Lakes, NY) $12 [Very Good] is a very citrus-y Riesling with lots of tart acidity and zip.  It is on the medium dry side of the spectrum and will work both as a sipper (for those who like tangier Riesling) or with food.  It is a very good value.

Pale lemon in color, tart, narrow and focused aromas of lime, green apple, pink grapefruit, grapefruit zest and mineral notes are attractive.  Medium bodied, medium dry, round, with loads of tart acidity, the SH is well balanced.  Mouth watering flavors of green apple, pink grapefruit, lime and citrus zest are given a boost by subtle minerality.  The finish is tart, slightly floral/soapy, with lipsmacking good length.  December 2015
