Attic Cellar “R is for Riesling” 2014:  Good+

The Attic Cellar “r is for riesling” (Finger Lakes, NY) 2014 Price Unknown [Good+] is a medium dry to medium sweet Riesling, with low acidity and honeyed apple flavors.  This wine was produced by Michael Reidy, the winemaker at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards, and was only distributed to a handful of restaurants and only one wine shop, as far as I know.

Medium lemon in color, laid-back aromas of apple, white peach, honey, lime and shalestone are medium intense.  Light to medium bodied, medium dry to medium sweet, with a fairly full mouth feel, acidity is on the low side.  Balance is good.  Flavors of apple, white peach, lime, honey and fairly strong shalestone notes have good intensity but could use a little zip.  The finish is of-a-piece, ending on a slightly bitter shalestone note.  November 2016.
