Lamoreaux Landing Semi-Dry Riesling 2014: $12 Good

The Lamoreaux Landing Semi-Dry Riesling (Finger Lakes, NY) 2014 $12 [Good] is a straightforward wine with fairly raw aromas and flavors.  Although it is medium sweet, acidity is rather high and it lacks charm.  As a result, this is not a wine to sip.  Drink it with snacks or dinner.

Pale lemon in color, the aromas are raw and diffuse, with mineral acidity in charge.  There are light notes of lime, apple and pear.  Medium bodied, medium sweet, with tart acidity and a slightly chalky mouth feel, balance is OK.  Tangy, straightforward, modestly intense flavors of apple and lime have a smoky/chalky mineral accent.  The finish is tangy, of-a-piece, with average length.  January 2016
